Perhaps the enhancement should be that better documentation needs to be in
place. For a lot of people, umask is pretty obscure.

A UMASK is the inverse of a permission set. Default permissions are 666 (rw,
rw, rw) for a document. A UMASK of 002 creates 664 (rw-rw-r--), whereas a UMASK
of 000 creates the default permissions for a document (666/rw-rw-rw-), which
would solve the issue. Of course, this would also leave it so that, by default,
world can change documents created by a registered user. It comes down to user
choice.
