I found another issue concerning the the RssViewer Plugin.
The feed mentioned in the other emails is encoded in utf-8. Using german
umlauts caused wierd two-character combinations beeing displayed instead
of them. In the source they were encoded as html entities. So I looked
for htmlentities calls in the RssViewer plugin and found the following:

 'NAME' => htmlentities($Item->get('title')),
 'TEASER' => htmlentities($Item->get('description')),

In the PHP manual I found an encoding parameter for htmlentities and
when I used it it worked correctly:

 'NAME' => htmlentities($Item->get('title'),ENT_COMPAT,'UTF-8'),
 'TEASER' => htmlentities($Item->get('description'),ENT_COMPAT,'UTF-8'),

The only problem is where to get the encoding from. $sEnc seems to be
the user encoding and isn't set (but used for the readFeed call, what
seems a bit strange to me). Perhaps it would be nice to have a
parameter for the plugin specifying the feed's encoding.
