Message My approach is to store the binary content in the database, - primarily
to make backup easier.

The upload should be easy to implement.

The download should be authorized by the cookie allready sat by the main
webside (I guess we can assume that this allways works if you download
or view images from the browser)

A list of mime-types should determine if the attacment is default showed
inline, and this should be editable in the editor by i.e <plugin
attachment inline name="mypicture.jpg">. Another way round is to include
the possiblilty in <plugin embed>

The attachments will automaticaly be associated to the mother wikipage,
and inherits the motherdocuments groups, owner and privileges.
The associations between wikipage and attachment is maintained in a
seperate table.

When a new version of the document is created, a new set of associations
is created (12 rows if 12 attachments, and no new uploaded and none is
deleted) - this might introduce some redundance, but is simpler to
implement i guess.

The above is version 1 - that is what is my primary priority.

Next version could introduce an attachment-browser, allowing you to
create associations in new wikipages to attachmenets allready stored
(and you have privileges to view) and possibility to show thumbnails of
standard web-images.

Third version should index pdf-documents and show thumbnail of
pdf-documents first page. (if proper software is installed on the server)

Fourth version might use OpenOffice to do the same thing with MS-Word
and other ooo-compatible documents

Klavs
